Privacy Policy

Parul English Lab ("we," "us," "the Lab") provides this policy to explain what information we collect from learners, how we use it, and the choices you have about it. This policy applies to parul-english-lab.vercel.app and the Lab product.

1. Information we collect

• Account information: name, email address, and sign-in method (magic link, password, or Google sign-in).
• Practice data: lesson answers, accuracy, completion history, and which paths you've started or finished.
• Speaking recordings: short self-recordings you make during speaking practice sessions.
• Billing information: your subscription status and payment history. Card and payment details are handled directly by our payment processor; we do not store your full card number on our own servers.
• Usage data: device type, browser, approximate location (from IP address), and pages visited, collected automatically to keep the product working and to see what needs fixing.

2. How we use this information

• To create and run your account, and to keep your practice history and progress accurate.
• To grade your exercises and choose what to show you in review sessions.
• To process your subscription, including the transition from free trial to paid billing.
• To respond when you contact us with a question or a problem.
• To understand, in aggregate, which lessons are working and which need improvement.

3. Speaking recordings, specifically

Recordings exist so you can practise and, where relevant, review your own speaking. We keep recordings for 90 days after you make them, then delete them automatically, unless you choose to save one. We do not use recordings to train third-party AI models, and we do not share individual recordings outside the company without your consent.

4. Who we share information with

We do not sell learner data. We share information only with service providers who help us run the Lab, under agreements that limit what they can do with it:

• Our payment processor, to handle billing and refunds.
• Our hosting provider, to run the website and store data securely.
• Email delivery services, to send login links, receipts, and support replies.

Some of these providers may process data on servers outside India. Where that happens, we rely on providers with appropriate security and data-protection commitments in place.

Achievement cards you choose to share: when you share an achievement card, anyone with the link can see that card, including the display name and profile photo shown on it. Search engines are asked not to index these pages. You can stop sharing a card at any time from your profile, and the link will then stop showing your card.

5. How long we keep your data

We keep account and practice data for as long as your account is active, and for 12 months after cancellation in case you return or raise a support question about your history. You can ask us to delete your account and associated data sooner at any time.

6. Your rights

You can ask us, at any time, to:

• Send you a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Correct information that is inaccurate.
• Delete your account and associated data.
• Withdraw consent for uses of your data that rely on consent.

7. Children's use of the Lab

The Lab is intended for learners aged 16 and older. If you are younger than this, please use the Lab together with a parent or guardian who has read this policy.

8. Security

We use industry-standard measures, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and access controls, to protect your data. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Grievance contact

For any privacy complaint or grievance, contact us at learnenglishwithparularya@gmail.com. We aim to acknowledge grievances within 7 business days.

10. Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the date above and notify active subscribers by email.
